Southern Cross Xanthosia rotundifolia or common name Southern Cross, named because of its remarkable resemblance to the constellation Southern Cross.

Aussie flag The constellation is visible from all parts of the southern hemisphere and is incorporated into many of the flags of downunder countries, including the Aussie flag.
Unlike the constellation, the native flower is seen only in the Albany region.

Jinnunger has about 8 hectares (20 acres) of native bush, where the Southern Cross grows profusely. Hence we chose it as our icon.
